TINY ME

The main theme was my childhood nostalgia; I wanted to make pieces that I would have loved when I was a child. I thought about what I was interested at that age and found huge inspiration in familiar cartoons and toys, in particular Japanese pop culture and the idea of cute. To explore cuteness I created my own cute language. I discovered that circular shapes with big rounded eyes and animal ears or small paws were a big part of that language. Spray paint allowed me to explore the pastel colour palette that was so constant in my research. These ‘creatures’ are designed to be loved and cared. They become your little friends when you wear them and support you through the rough adult days.
